If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of having to upgrade ICONICS to SQL Server 2012 because the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner was lax in entering the modern era then this is your guide.
OK so I worked out how to get BizViz working with SQL Server 2012. Basically I
had to perform a bait and switch. I installed BizViz with SQL Server 2005 on a
dev machine and backedup all the databases, .udl files, and IIS connections
strings. I installed SQL Server 2012 in the production machine and then
installed BizViz while ignoring the warnings and errors about not having SQL
2005. Once BizViz was installed I restored the backedup files from the dev
machine onto the production machine. I went through the BizBiz configurations
and now everything seems to be working.
The error that concerns me is that the Productivity Analytics Service
Configurator can't get the database connection string. I'll have to track down
the file location it is looking in and set that straight.
